D.Mon Joins the Tank Roster
Overwatch's 53rd hero, D.Mon, arrived with the launch of Season 4: Heroes of Busan on August 11, 2026. She is Yuna Lee, a MEKA Squad pilot who has defended Busan for years from inside her mech, Beast. D.Mon leads from the front with a close range Plasma Saber, protects teammates with a deployable Power Barrier, repositions with Propulsors, and switches to a Fusion Repeater when she needs to fight at range. Her Limit Break ultimate helps her whole team advance together. Like D.Va, if Beast takes lethal damage, Yuna Lee ejects and can keep fighting on foot until she remounts.
Busan, Paraiso, and Eichenwalde Reworked
Three existing maps were updated for the season. Busan now shows the aftermath of a Junker assault and a Talon attack on the MEKA base, including damaged streets and details from D.Mon's personal life, and players can step inside her room to see her mech upgrade area. Paraiso adds new decoration and an upgraded Clube Sinestesia area from Lucio, along with new routes and high ground near the map's control points. Eichenwalde adds new routes and a chokepoint alternative near its first objective, including a new path that gives attackers a height advantage.
Battle Pass Revamp
Season 4 changes how the Battle Pass works. Players no longer have to unlock rewards in a single fixed order. After completing an introductory track, they can choose which Legendary skin to pursue first. Premium Battle Pass owners can also use a Tier Hack once per Battle Pass to swap an eligible Legendary reward for a different cosmetic from the seasonal Swap Pool, which launches with Raijin Ashe, Mob Boss Junker Queen, Cardboard Reinhardt, Sakura Lifeweaver, and Crustacean Wrecking Ball. The Battle Pass interface has also been refreshed.
Note: Unvaulted Passes arriving later in the season let players catch up on select past Battle Passes, but they will not include the original premium currency, Mythic Prisms, Prestige Titles, or Mythic Hero and Weapon Skins.
Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania
The three week Shooting Star: My MEKA Mania event runs from August 11 to August 31. Players choose one of five MEKA Squad pilots, D.Va, D.Mon, Casino, King, or Overlord, and complete that pilot's reward pass for themed cosmetics, loot boxes, and story content. Every completed pass counts as one vote toward a global popularity ranking, and players can complete multiple passes. Finishing all five unlocks a bonus sixth Prestige pass, and everyone who takes part receives a Player Card featuring the pilot with the most votes.
Competitive Play and Team Drives
Season 4 adds a new rank called Emerald between Platinum and Diamond in Competitive Play, along with new titles and weapon charms for reaching it. Blizzard redistributed players who were previously in Platinum and Diamond into the new rank. A new Team Drives event runs September 4 to 6, grouping players automatically with their winning teammates for follow up matches, with consecutive wins granting bonus progress toward Gladiator Ranks.
World Cup Cheer Rally
From September 1 to September 14, the World Cup Cheer Rally lets players earn Cheer through in-game challenges or by watching eligible Overwatch World Cup broadcasts. Players then put their Cheer behind the AMER, EMEA, or ASIA conference. Each conference has its own reward track of Battle Pass XP, loot boxes, and regional hero skins, and the conference with the most Cheer at the end unlocks a themed weapon charm for everyone who participated.
New Mythic Skins
Season 4 adds two Mythic cosmetics. Koi of Duality is a four level Mythic skin for Genji with multiple hairstyles and colorways plus a koi effect at its final level. Sojourn's Eternal Crystal Mythic weapon skin reacts to eliminations, unlocking new flourish animations and a kill effect as players progress through its levels.
