Check which BrownDust2 PC version you are using
BrownDust2 currently has more than one way to play on Windows. The troubleshooting steps differ depending on whether you use the standalone BrownDust2 Launcher or the Google Play Games PC version.
If you normally start the game from a BrownDust2 desktop shortcut or a BrownDust2 folder in the Windows Start menu, follow the standalone launcher steps first. If you installed the game through Google Play Games, use the separate Google Play Games requirements below.
Check the standalone BrownDust2 PC requirements first
NEOWIZ lists these recommended requirements for its standalone BrownDust2 PC client:
- OS: Windows 10 or Windows 11
- DirectX: DirectX 11 or later
- CPU: Intel Core i5 or later, or AMD Ryzen 5 or later
- RAM: 3 GB or more
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8 series or later, or AMD Radeon HD 2000 series or later
- Browser: Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Brave or another supported browser listed by NEOWIZ
If the computer does not meet the route's requirements, fix that problem before repeatedly reinstalling the game.
Run BrownDust2 Launcher when the game needs an update
If the installed game version needs updating, NEOWIZ specifically instructs players to run BrownDust2 Launcher.

Reinstall BrownDust2 if the game still will not run
If BrownDust2 continues to have a startup problem, NEOWIZ's official troubleshooting sequence is to remove the PC installation and reinstall it.
Control Panel.Uninstall Program.BrownDust2.BrownDust2.exe after the installation completes. This is the reinstall procedure NEOWIZ currently gives players when the standalone game does not run correctly.
Replace the older PC launcher if you still have it installed
NEOWIZ also identifies an older PC version that does not include the payment function. If that is the version installed on your computer, the official instructions tell you to use the Google Play download option and install the newer launcher route.
Open the official BrownDust2 PC download section and use the current download option instead of repeatedly trying to repair the older launcher.
Note: This is different from an ordinary game update. If your installed build is the older launcher identified by NEOWIZ, replace that version rather than only restarting it.
Google Play Games has its own startup requirements
If you installed BrownDust2 through Google Play Games on Windows, check the requirements for that route separately. The official BrownDust2 Google Play listing currently lists:
- OS: Windows 10 version 2004 or later
- Storage: SSD with at least 10 GB of available space
- Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 630 or comparable
- Processor: 4 physical CPU cores
- Memory: 8 GB RAM
- Account: Windows administrator account
- System setting: Hardware virtualization enabled
If Google Play Games itself refuses to install or start BrownDust2, verify these requirements before troubleshooting the standalone BrownDust2 Launcher because they are different PC routes.
If BrownDust2 still does not start after reinstalling
If the official update and reinstall steps do not fix the problem, contact BrownDust2 support instead of repeatedly deleting the installation.
If you can open the game far enough to access its menus, use Home > ETC > Customer Service Center.
If the startup failure prevents you from reaching the in-game support menu, NEOWIZ lists mobilecs@help.pmang.com as the support address for players who cannot submit an inquiry in game.
